Vote Tuesday: It's Not Just the POTUS, and Not JUST Inside Baseball

Untitled Document
UPDATE 2: MA election results and Needham turnout breakdown are here: Super Tuesday Needham Results

UPDATE: Needham Patch has information about polling locations (remember, there was redistricting this year; some of you will be voting in different places)

VOTE ON TUESDAY! There's more than just the President on the ballot! Take charge of our Party! Make sure our progressive liberal values are represented in the State Democratic Party!
MORE ---

VOTE FOR THE PRESIDENT!

As I wrote last week, you, yes you, a progressive, a Democrat, have a vote on Tuesday, March 6. It's Super Tuesday! PRESIDENT OBAMA IS ON THE BALLOT! Are you going to be voting for our President? Go on!

TOWN/WARD COMMITTEES

But there's even more at stake for liberals, progressives, Democrats on Tuesday. We will be voting for the Democratic Committees for each town and ward in Massachusetts. The Committees are the local representatives and actors for the Democratic Party. If you want to have a say in the direction, focus and work of the Democratic Party, you should become familiar with the Town or Ward Committees.

In Needham, the members of the Committee are uncontested, I believe (and I'm on the ballot this time!)... That may not be so where you are (if you are outside of Needham). Think about who you want to be the face of our party in your town. Whose values and commitment are in line with yours?

get it? "inside baseball"?

CONTESTED SEAT IN NEEDHAM D-H

Where there IS a contest --which has real consequences-- is the race for the (half of) Needham*'s seat on the Massachusetts Democratic Party State Committee. (see end of post for full list of wards/towns covered--it includes Dover, Dedham, Needham, Norwood, Westwood, parts of WRox, JP, Roslindale).

If you've ever wondered "What is the Party doing?!" and felt that the direction of the party is out of sync with your values as a Democrat, then this is the kind of supposedly "inside baseball" that we need to be paying attention to, as liberal, progressive activists.

So GO VOTE on Tuesday!

MY ENDORSEMENT FOR THE MA DSC Norfolk/Suffolk Seat:

For this seat, I encourage you to vote for Tom Holloway. He is committed to progressive values and tapping into the grassroots energy of our district. I urge you to find out more about his candidacy at his website, VoteHolloway.com
"Tom Holloway (Dover)" appears SECOND on the ballot.  In case you need a mneumonic for remembering once in the polling booth, Tom Holloway's name appears FIRST on the ballot for this seat (reminder: in Needham this is ONLY in precincts D-H).
A short summary of Tom's qualifications/platform:
Tom Holloway is running on the ballot for the first of two male seats on the Massachusetts Democratic State Committee (DSC), representing the Norfolk & Suffolk Senate District.  The DSC is the organizational governing body of the Democratic Party in Massachusetts.
Having served on the DSC for 12 years, Tom is currently Deputy Treasurer for the Party and a Senate District Leader this election cycle, coordinating the Party's grassroots efforts across the N&S District in an effort to take back Ted Kennedy's seat and reelect the President.
Tom is committed to representing the entire N&S District, working with ALL town and ward committees, newcomers to the political process and diverse interest groups with the goal of greater participation at the local, district and national levels.
Building on the Party's coordinated efforts this cycle, Tom is also committed to building a permanent district-wide organization to support a vibrant and meaningful Democratic Party.
More information about Tom can be found at www.VoteHolloway.com.
And don't forget, there's a guy called BARACK OBAMA whom you should vote for, too!
Happy voting! (AND REMIND YOUR FRIENDS TO VOTE, TOO!)
