UPDATES: Borrelli, Fogg, Jacob and DiCicco win their races.
Precinct I had the highest turn out (see chart below), and is the one precinct that went for Greis. Precinct A had the lowest, and had the fewest number of town meeting candidates running. [compare to April 2011 turnout]
Full results (in pdf spreadsheet form) posted by the Town Clerk.
TOWN WIDE TOTAL: 4,416 BALLOTS CAST. 19,396 voters in
Needham: 23% turnout. That’s really good for a municipal race. Which is terrible!!! We should be disappointed--not delighted--when we break 80%!!
Needham Patch is doing a nice job narrativizing the results:
- Town Meeting results
- Town wide races
____
10:24P:
Matt Borrelli won the race for Board of Selectman; Tom Jacob won Parks and Rec; Jane Fogg won write-in Board of Health. Full results not yet available at least to me.

I think we may have cracked 15%. Totals, w/ outdated numbers, are 2600, so I'm thinking we are realistically at least 3,000. That's 15%. Yay us? Can we break 18%???
6:00P
When I popped in to check on ballot count at 6, the Prec. H ballot machine (what's it called???) was blinking; it had been unplugged. Plugging it in seemed to go smoothly. The officer on site said, "I've had more problems in this precinct/election day than i've had in X years of doing this." Don't know what the other probs were. Had to get my kids.
5:00P
Using the out-of-time numbers above, we have at least 2,000 ballots cast. Asterisked precincts = contested town meeting precincts.

Ha. NeedhamPatch posts update and also says "1400 votes by 2PM." What about C and D? And E!?

By my math, with the INCOMPLETE data above, we are over 7% turnout. (19,396 registered Needham voters.... 1400 known (to me) ballots... but data is old and incomplete (C/D non represented). So maybe we're doing better w/ turn out than last year (when we had 13% total at end of day).
When I voted (around 1:30 I think) there were two sign-holders for Borelli, one for Greis, and one for Susan McGarvey, town meeting candidate of precinct G.
